LEHI, UT – Changing lives makes a difference on a grand scale, but it also happens one person at a time. As 2011 begins, health and wellness leader XANGO, LLC can reflect on the thousands of individual infants, children and families who benefited in 2010 from its ethic of giving back. Two-year-old cleft lip patient Fernanda Ramayo of Mexico City leads a healthy, smile-filled life today in stark contrast to her situation just 15 months ago. Lay Sokkaha, an undernourished woman in Cambodia, recently gave birth to a healthy 7 lbs. baby after receiving vital nutrients. XANGO is a leading global health and wellness direct sales company, and home of the XANGO Goodness Foundation.

XANGO Founders Create Smiles
In late 2010, as part of XANGO’s evolving and expanding work with Operation Smile, company Founder and Board Member Joe Morton presented a donation to the Smile House at the San Paolo Hospital, Universitario of Milan, in Italy. In partnership with Operation Smile Italy, the Smile House will treat children with cleft lips and cleft palates from various parts of Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Operation Smile, a worldwide children’s medical charity, has partnered with XANGO for hundreds of life-changing surgeries for children with facial deformities in 2010. Earlier in the year, XANGO and Operation Smile completed four medical missions to perform nearly 500 surgeries on children in need in Tlaxcala and Guadalajara, Mexico; the Chonburi province of Thailand; and Ulan Ude, Russia.

The program received official recognition via a 2010 Communitas Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals in the category of Leadership in Community Service. The Communitas Awards recognize exceptional businesses, organizations and individuals who unselfishly give of themselves and their resources, and those who change how they do business to benefit their communities.

XANGO’s Global Distributor Network Embraces Meal Pack Program
Last month, XANGO distributors reached a milestone with their donation of the 3 millionth meal to malnourished and undernourished children and families across the world through the XANGO Meal Pack program. Through a partnership with global health and disaster relief organization AmeriCares, Meal Packs reach those in most need through a system of non-governmental organizations in developing countries. In 2010, meals were delivered to children and families in Cambodia, Malawi, Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua and the Philippines.*

In addition, XANGO has involved its employees and distributors in various other causes that benefit children, families and communities in need, including the following:

  • This past holiday season, XANGO Founders and employees gave back to their local community, providing gift baskets to 42 Habitat for Humanity families in Utah. Earlier in 2010, the Founders and 50 employees partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a single mother and her family in Provo, Utah.
  • XANGO is currently partnering with the Fisher House Foundation through January; for every bottle of XANGO’s reformulated XANGO 3SIXTY5™ multivitamin that is sold, XANGO will donate one 30-day supply, distributed via 11 military hospitals in eight states. Fisher House supports America’s military by providing “comfort homes” to the families of military members seeking specialized medical care.
  • Kicking off the holiday season, XANGO collaborated with other direct selling companies to support the Today Show’s
  • annual toy and gift drive by donating XANGO’s leading personal care products. XANGO’s donation reached thousands of people in need across the United States.

Giving is a core element of XANGO’s mission as a health and wellness company. As XANGO has grown over the past eight years, the philanthropic arm of the company has extended in parallel to the XANGO business since day one and will continue to better the lives of others in need for years to come.
